So there is this group called The Write Agenda. Supposedly, they're all about authors helping authors. Except, they're bashing other author-helping groups. Writer Beware, Absolute Write Water Cooler, and Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA), all helpful and informing sites for authors, are the groups The Write Agenda has attacked.
Now, I am from the UK and not a writer, so these groups aren't ones I tend to visit or know that well, but I have read them mentioned, and highly praised on several author blogs, and know they are brilliantly helpful sites. So The Write Agenda attacking them, well, it's not on.
But what's more, they have made a list of authors, authors connected to any of these groups in the smallest way, that should be boycotted. Disgusting, huh?
But the wonderful authors over at The League of Reluctant Adults have reacted in a brilliant way, with a highly amusing post (which also goes into more detail about this whole issue, with links) explaining why they are livid about not being boycotted, and why they should be. Basically, they're showing they're support for the attacked groups by making a mockery of the boycotting. And it's soo funny! They even encourage other authors to give reasons why they should be boycotted in the comments, and each member of the League will be donating $15 to SFWA's legal fund if 100 authors boycott themselves. It's brilliant! So if by any chance any authors are reading this, get yourself over to the post, show your support and boycott yourself!
I hadn't heard about this. I agree with you. That web site is not supporting authors. The sites they are boycotting are there to protect us.
